Styles tyesis keep your formatting consistent. As long as styles were used to mark the headings, you should be able to update the Table of Contents field, and it will display all of the headings and appropriate page numbers for you. Styles will help you navigate your document.

In consultation with the Supervisor, students may choose to compose their theses using the traditional thesis style or the manuscript-based thesis style. The general form and style of thesis may differ from program to program, but a thesis must be a cohesive document. Was it Times New Roman font?

Each kind of formatting is turned into a style, and laid out before you start typing. Do this by right clicking on the field, and choosing “Update Field” from the menu.
